WHAT IS PDP?

BIGLITTLE Theatre School’s Professional Development Programme is a training theatre company offering 9.75 hours of contact time per week during term time (Thursday evening plus full-day Saturdays) plus two major production weeks, one in February half-term and one in July.

Membership of PDP enables committed, focused and talented young performers entering school year 12 or above to develop their skills in a fully professional environment, working with a wide range of top professionals in all aspects of theatre.  Students gain a place on the programme for one year but may re-audition to remain a member in subsequent years.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING WHILST IN SIXTH FORM

Due to the programme's part-time nature, students who successfully gain entry to PDP can train vocationally for their chosen career while continuing their academic studies in sixth form at school or college. This enables students to specialise in performing arts and receive training for drama school entry without compromising their studies.

PDP students receive training in

• Dance
• Acting (stage & screen)
• Improvisation
• Vocal technique
• Acting through song
• Monologue preparation
• Shakespeare & Classical texts
• Voiceovers & Podcasting, and much more

PDP fully prepares students for drama school auditions and the demands of full-time professional training.
