Musical Theatre classes for children in reception to year 7
MTKidz is BIGLITTLE Theatre School's brilliant training ground for children looking to build confidence and skills in performing arts with classes catering to students from reception age up to year 7. The classes are dynamic and friendly and well suited to those young people who may be taking their first steps into the world of performance and who maybe don't yet feel ready to audition for a Youth Theatre place.
We have five centres across Dorset & Hampshire; Bournemouth, Christchurch, Ringwood, Boscombe & now Poole!
The programme is run by very experienced staff, under the skilled leadership of the brilliant Gaynor Watts, and the entire team has an extensive background in professional performing arts teaching and performing.
All MTKidz students perform in a showcase presentation in a studio theatre venue once a year.
CLASSES FOR ALL AGES [Reception - Year 7]
MTKidz Mini offers a full introduction to the joy of Acting, Singing, and Dancing in an hour-long class for children in Reception, Year 1 & 2.
MTKidz Junior and MTKidz Junior+ classes enable students to further develop their skills in Musical Theatre in age-appropriate classes.
MTKidz Junior is for students in school Years 3 &4 and lasts an hour and a quarter.
MTKidz Junior+ is for students in school Years 5,6 & 7 and lasts an hour and a half.
Singing, dance, and drama are taught as separate disciplines in order to develop confidence and competence as an individual, working with experienced and dedicated creative teaching staff. Both classes are non-syllabus and run for an hour and a quarter and an hour and a half, respectively.
Students can progress through all the stages of MTKidz, and as they turn 12, they can move to MTTeenz or transfer to other classes should they wish to concentrate on a single discipline, such as Acting or Dance, or they may audition for a place in BIGLITTLE Youth Theatre.
