Summer School programme announced

Much excitement here in the office today as we finally announce full details of our long-awaited summer school “musical in a week” programme for 2023.

There are projects for four different age groups ranging from reception to students in year 13 and gap year, and we’re really pleased with the titles that we’ve selected for this year’s programme.

For our primary-age students, we have the Disney smash-hit musical Frozen in the specially adapted “Jr.” version developed by Disney to enable children to experience being a part of a performance of the musical that has been tailored to their age range and abilities.

The “intermediate” project (year 7-10) this year is the cult cheerleader musical Bring It On a fantastically fun, high energy show, co-written by Lin Manuel Miranda (of Hamilton fame!). The senior project (for students in year 10 and above who already have significant experience) is the musical version of the classic Dolly Parton film 9 to 5. With a fabulous score and a brilliant script it’s the ideal vehicle for the students to get their teeth into this summer.

Each project has its own creative team, we’re really pleased to say that Caine Stanton returns to direct our Junior project, and to lead the first dedicated “Minis” summer school our ever-popular head of our MTKidz classes, Gaynor Watts. The rest of the creative teams will be announced soon.

And remember - you don’t need to train at BIGLITTLE to be able to join us for summer school - all are welcome and we’d love to see you there!

Oh - and we almost forgot(!) - keep an eye on your social feeds and emails for more details about the return of Albey Brookes & Friends - some more fabulous workshops and masterclasses coming your way this summer!
