This year Big Little Theatre School “comes of age” and turns 21 years old.
Back in the 1990′s Michelle Guy was teaching P.E. and Drama at St. Thomas Garnet’s School, and Colin Billing was working with the locally based Big Little Theatre Company as Musical Director. Michelle was running “Guy’s School of Performing Arts” alongside her position at St. Thomas Garnet’s School and invited Colin to join her for some workshop sessions in musical theatre.
One thing led to another and in February 1996 the students of “Guy’s School” were invited to participate in a show produced by Big Little Theatre Company in support of the Mayor of Bournemouth’s Charities at the Winter Gardens Theatre. The children performed to great acclaim and this in turn led to the founding of the Big Little Youth Theatre in September 1996 – which in the fullness of time became merged with “Guy’s School” to form the BIGLITTLE Theatre School.
And twenty-one years later it’s definitely time to celebrate the journey so far and look forward to the future. Aside from the school’s normal activities during this academic year, (ArtsFest 17 and Broadway Showtunes) we held a fantastic 21st Birthday Concert.

This was a fantastic evening commemorating 21 years of the BIGLITTLE Theatre School.
