WORK EXPERIENCE MUSICALS
Specialist projects for advanced students to experience the professional world
“It was a magnificent, moving, emotive performance with maturity way beyond the average age of the cast members” Jane Salter (Jane Eyre the Musical)
The projects have been developed to give older students a unique opportunity to work on what is effectively a professional show. Termed “work experience” musicals, the students (who make up the entire cast) work as a professional company would in full time rehearsals and production phase during the course. A top professional and very experienced creative & production team ensure that the students get the most out of the experience – not just artistically but also in terms of working attitudes, ethics and disciplines. Past productions have included ‘Children of Eden’, ‘Jane Eyre’, ‘Just So’, and ‘Legally Blonde’ which was produced and performed ‘off script’ in only eight days.
A professional stage management team also work alongside student assistant stage managers, who also get to experience the process of designing, lighting, staging and running a show with very high production values.

PAST SUMMER ‘MUSICALS IN A WEEK’
DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS – Summer 2016
THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE – Summer 2015
Following on from the huge success of our Witches of Eastwick project, we were delighted to have secured the rights to present the musical ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie‘. The students created a production of the entire show from scratch, culminating in a performance for parents and friends on Saturday 8th August 2015 at Garnet Hall. This was an excellent opportunity for students in Year 8 and above to combine their musical theatre skills in an intensive rehearsal process focusing on developing characters in the context of a musical.
WITCHES OF EASTWICK – Summer 2014
Senior Musical Project for Summer 2014
We were delighted to secure the rights to present this great hit musical in August 2014. The project ran over eight days and the students created a production of the entire show from scratch, culminating in two public performances on Saturday 9th August 2014.
The whole Musical was produced in just 8 days with no prompts required at all!
It was produced by Sam Taylor-Martin and Colin Billing and was a very valuable experience for everyone who participated. For those who managed to come along and see the performance, it was unbelievable how much had been achieved in such a short space of time. The cast learned the whole Musical in just eight days and the final performance was extremely entertaining and accomplished.
