Here are some of the questions that get "frequently asked".  More will be added in due course, and if you have a question that you'd like to get the answer to or to suggest to add to this list please contact us .

What performing opportunities does each student have with BIGLITTLE?

Students at BIGLITTLE get wide ranging performance opportunities throughout the year, depending upon the classes and courses undertaken.  These include our FESTIVAL in March, SPOTLIGHT in July plus our regular Soirees, and then other projects including summer schools and our "work experience" musical .

What experience do you need to join?

Previous experience is not necessary for our regular weekly acting, musical theatre & dance classes - just enthusiasm and a desire to learn and develop.  Some basic training and understanding of performance is required for the Youth Theatre companies.

Do we run or associate with an agency?

No. We are often contacted about projects and events which we may consider suitable for recommending to students. BIGLITTLE focuses on developing the skills necessary to become a competent and skilled young adult. This process does not always work hand in hand with the "child star" ethos. Past experience has shown that frequent absence of certain students, from the learning process at BIGLITTLE, has not proved to be beneficial. Our success rate of students wishing to progress onto further training at 16 or 18 plus is more important to both students and the school.

Do we give career and audition guidance?

Absolutely! We are very keen to ensure that students are fully aware of what performing and creative opportunities lie beyond BIGLITTLE. It is also very important that we manage expectations and support the full spectrum of chosen careers. By the time a student is at the age when they wish to seriously consider a career in theatre or otherwise, we are able to offer the appropriate meetings, programmes of training and audition guidance.

What if I just want to join for a hobby and do not want a career in theatre?

Many of our students adore working to the best of their ability at BIGLITTLE but do not want to take it up as a career. The skills learnt through performance and the acting process are invaluable in so many walks of life. There is a place for any student who wishes to spend their time at BIGLITTLE fulfilling their potential and then moving on to their chosen career.

Who will be teaching and supporting my child?

A fantastic team of "creatives" (Directors, Choreographers, Musical Directors) plus experienced professional performers work with our regular team of skilled and motivated teachers.  All suported by excellent pastoral care staff and chaperones where required.

How do we join or get involved?

That depends on what you're interested in doing. A good start would be to look at this page.
