Professional Development Programme

Stage 4+ [ages 15-19]

The Professional Development Programme is BIGLITTLE's advanced youth theatre company working full days on Saturdays, plus other rehearsal and performance calls as required, that enables committed, focused and talented young performers to develop their skills in as close to a professional theatre environment as possible.

Students work in a wide variety of musical theatre styles, to expand their experience and individual repertoire, with vastly experienced and well respected industry practitioners as tutors and directors. The programme focuses on all skills required to be a musical theatre performer, and not just the core of acting, singing & dancing, but also professional development; enabling the students to "step up" to a faster paced work rate where there is a higher expectation on the to ensure that they are on top of all their material and where they are expected to begin to take responsibility for their own development & work ethic.

PDP is designed for students in year 10 and above who have a serious desire and belief in a career in theatre. Because the work-rate and commitment required is so high - it is not really designed for those who merely wish to pursue acting/singing/dancing purely as a hobby as inevitably these students will have different priorities in their lives and will find the ultimate commitment to a professional working regime hard to maintain.

Entrance to PDP is by means of formal audition in September each year.  Students must already be a member of BIGLITTLE to be eligable to audition for PDP.
